Introducing Percival "Zangetsu" Castro entry ! He's one of the regular members of PG, and also has a great taste on rendering his kits.

So here is his entry, MG Unicorn Banshee in standard color scheme. He really got me in his rendering by using gradients on the psychoframe.

Why is his build special?
Because his entry really depicts how does a psychoframe glow and heat up. Simple build yet fantastic depiction on the psychoframe :D This is really an amazing painted build in standard colors.

I hope he gets an award! Good luck on the nationals Zangetsu!

PinoyGundam was never really known for homegrown, hardcore modelers, most of us just chill and detox while at the forum/page from a long day at work or at school. We mostly collect, play and display our stuff- spending what little precious time we have outside of our priorities to enjoy the hobby in our own simple ways. Not really paying attention too much on the nitty gritty of being a gunpla scale modeler.

All of that is about to change.

Ace "Alas" Perez, one of our homegrown modelers from the Anazasi School of Vanz Hilario, is officially entering the Philippine Nationals on what is expected to be the first of a long line of modelers coming from the PinoyGundam scene. His entry is none other than the RGM-96X Jesta Master Grade, and here are the photos:

Let us all wish Ace the best of luck on this contest. Whatever happens he definitely did us proud with this entry, his growth from a regular seller/collector to a full-pledged modeler in a span of few months is nothing short of remarkable.

Till next, Mismo!

I have been away from the modeling scene for almost 3 years until mid last 2012, and by then I was so out of touch that my panache for quality works have dulled through the years. I was happily content with OOTB works, flatcoat here and there, silvered foil stickers did not even bother me.

Not until I saw this monster.

Enter Neograde's 1/100 Resin Kshatriya, modeled by one of our prominent local artists Doy "Doyzilla" Alvarez.

Admittedly this inspired a paradigm shift on my personal perspective as a collector- it led me to focus on premium quality works from then onwards. This was one of the best-made renditions of the Neograde model in the modeling scene- and despite it being around a year old already, Doyzilla's 1/100 Resin Kshatriya remains a timeless classic.

Till next, Mismo!
