PinoyGundam was never really known for homegrown, hardcore modelers, most of us just chill and detox while at the forum/page from a long day at work or at school. We mostly collect, play and display our stuff- spending what little precious time we have outside of our priorities to enjoy the hobby in our own simple ways. Not really paying attention too much on the nitty gritty of being a gunpla scale modeler.
All of that is about to change.
Ace "Alas" Perez, one of our homegrown modelers from the Anazasi School of Vanz Hilario, is officially entering the Philippine Nationals on what is expected to be the first of a long line of modelers coming from the PinoyGundam scene. His entry is none other than the RGM-96X Jesta Master Grade, and here are the photos:
Let us all wish Ace the best of luck on this contest. Whatever happens he definitely did us proud with this entry, his growth from a regular seller/collector to a full-pledged modeler in a span of few months is nothing short of remarkable.
Till next, Mismo!

We've heard how metallics belong to a cult following, and matte colors arguably rule the roost in the modeling world. Then again it never hurts to try when the theme is appropriate for the task at hand.
Ace Perez saw this window with the Gadessa 144, and he delivered with aplomb!
Admittedly when I first had this kit I felt this was beyond saving. Glued to death, scratches galore, the horror.
Now Gadessa transcends goddess-status, worthy of her billing.
